Mount Siguniang National Park has been well known as the ‘Queen of Sichuan’s Peaks’. It also managed a place into UNESCO world heritage list. Because of the four peaks, the locals named it ‘Siguniang’ which literally means ‘four girls mountain’ or ‘four sisters mountain’. All the four peaks of Mount Siguniang are over 5,000 meters (16,404 feet) above sea level. There are also three beautiful valleys lie in heart of the four sisters, which are Shaungqiao Valley, Changping Valley, and Haizi Valley.

2 days short trip to the beautiful Mount Siguniang town, hike one of the valleys and see the landscape would be a great treat to those who want to escape the city for the weekend.

Itinerary

Day 1Chengdu - Mount Siguniang Town

In the morning, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Chengdu. You guys start to drive to Mount Siguniang town while gradually ascend to the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. You might have a slight high-altitude reaction for 3,200m (10,499ft) altitude of Mount Siguniang town. It’s always good to walk slowly and relax which helps you gradually adapt to the plateau area. You may take a rest in the hotel or wander around to see this small town inhabited by Gyarong Tibetans, who are considered as a branch of Tibetans living in West Sichuan Plateau area.

Having fully refreshed, you’ll ride on a sightseeing bus at Shuangqiao Valley in the afternoon which takes you to 6 different sites inside the Mount Siguniang park. The bus stops at each place for you to walk around and enjoy the spectacular scenery. Shuangqiao Valley bears tall and steep mountains with different sceneries. Inside the valley, tridimensional plants and the majestic mountains together make the fascinating scenery. 

A welcome dinner is waiting for you in the evening where you’ll feast on local dishes and you may also try Tibetan buttered tea.

Day 2Mount Siguniang Town - Chengdu

You will hit the hiking trail after having breakfast. The day starts with a short hike at the Changping Valley. There are many Tibetan villages spreading all over the valley and Guozhuang Platform for annual sacrifice and Lamaseries at the bottom of the valley. If the weather is good, the four peaks can be seen in a clear day from here.

It’s time for heading back after lunch. Our tour ends at Chengdu as we drive back In the afternoon.
